Job Overview & Duties

The Systems Administrator is responsible for the setup, maintenance and decommission of approximately 100 remote servers used by our customers for their daily operations. This individual responds to customer correspondence for assistance and documents and monitors problems to ensure timely resolution. The Systems Administrator will report to the Support Services Manager, and be responsible for the essential duties of this position which include:

  • Handles problem recognition, research, isolation, resolution and follow-up for routine user problems, referring more complex problems to supervisor.
  • Answers, evaluates, and prioritizes incoming telephone, voice mail, e-mail, and in-person requests for assistance from users experiencing problems with their servers or backups.
  • Interviews user to collect information about problem and leads user through diagnostic procedures to determine source of error.
  • Sets up new virtual and bare bones servers according to customer orders.
  • Sets up web server accounts and coordinates with the web development team for web hosting issues.
  • Maintains a backup system for each server.
  • Logs and tracks calls using Autotask, and maintains history records and related problem documentation.
  • Writes or revises user training manuals and software procedures.
  • Develops training materials such as quick-tips and how-to's.
  • Proactive maintenance to ensure up time and minimize down time.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


  • 2 years of experience managing servers/networks including:
    • Server 2008, 2012, 2016.
    • Setting up user accounts profiles, group policies, and security settings.
    • Remote Desktop management (printers and security).
  • Working knowledge of networks, protocols, routers and other tools.


  • A+ Certification
  • Associate’s degree in a technical field, or 4 years related technical experience, preferred.
  • Ability to type 30 words per minute.

Other skills

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, SQL server, Visual FoxPro Database software, Internet Explorer (and other browsers), Autotask Project Management software, GoTo. Meeting, TeamViewer remote assistance software.
  • Operating systems Windows 7 – 10; in addition to servers.
  • Configuration and set up of modern hardware and software.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Meticulously document work and corporate records relating to user accounts.
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.

Job Location/Required travel

  • This job is at the Turlock, CA headquarters.  There is no travel for this position.

Wage rate/Classification

  • The pay range for this position is $22  - $28 per hour.
